MAN RECTOR RESTATES COMMITMENT TO RESTORE ACADEMY LOST GLORY

The Rector of Maritime Academy of Nigeria, Commodore Duja Emmanuel Effedua, has said that his administration is committed to restoring the lost glory of the nation's premier maritime training and education's Centre. He said this on Tuesday while addressing the newly admitted ND 1 and HND 1 Cadets into the Academy.
The Rector congratulated and welcomed the successful intakes and charged them to continue to prove their mettle as their admission was based on merit. "You were selected basically on merit and we also made sure we chose the best from every states of the Federation, we are going to give you the best of training but it is up to you to make ample use of it and improve yourself.
“We will provide you with text books to help you in your educational pursuit," he said.  
He further advise them to abide by the rules and regulations guiding their conducts as any act of indiscipline or unseriousness would not be condoned.
Effedua, however, said that the ongoing restructuring and repositioning in the Academy is Federal Government's initiative aimed at putting the Academy at par with its counterparts worldwide.
He intimated that the Simulator Complex, Auditorium and E-library are at their advanced stages of completion and would soon be equipped for cadet's practical trainings.
He therefore called on Cadets to be serious with their studies, as his administration has provide the best hands in the industry to impart in them the knowledge required for them to be competent and successful seafarers in the future.
He assured them of his continued cooperation, saying his door is always open for constructive suggestions while encouraging them to bring forth matters that would bring synergy and conducive learning environment to the Academy.
The Rector, further said his administration is all inclusive and urged Cadets and staff to be diligent in contributing their quota to the success and development of the Academy.
He then prayed for a successful tenure and great stewardship that would put the Academy in it's pride of place amongst the comity of Maritime institutions.
